Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, best known for her role in Meteor Garden, has died at the age of 48. Her family said she passed away after influenza complications led to pneumonia during a family trip to Japan.

Hsu became one of Asia’s most loved stars after playing Dong Shan Cai in the 2001 hit drama Meteor Garden. The series made her famous across Taiwan, China, the Philippines, and many other parts of Asia.

Her younger sister shared a heartbreaking message, saying she was grateful to have had Barbie as her sister and would miss her forever. Fans across Asia also flooded social media with tributes, remembering the joy Hsu brought to their childhoods.

Before acting, Hsu rose to fame with her sister Dee as part of a pop duo in the 1990s. She later became a TV host and actress, building a career that made her a household name.

Hsu is survived by her two children. Her death has left fans grieving the loss of a star whose beauty, warmth, and unforgettable performances touched millions.
