What happened to Laura

Laura San Giacomo’s life changed not because of a failed movie, but because of something much more personal—becoming a mother.

When her son Mason was born with cerebral palsy, she made the decision to reshape her life around caring for him and supporting his needs.

Rather than stepping away from Hollywood because of disappointment, she chose a path that allowed her to balance work and family more effectively.

Television roles, including her work on Just Shoot Me!, gave her stability, a more predictable schedule, and the chance to stay close to home.

While others may have seen this as a change in her career direction, Laura saw it as the best way to be present for her child.

Over time, she also became a strong supporter of disability rights and inclusive education, speaking publicly and working with organizations that support these causes.

Today, living in the San Fernando Valley with her husband Matt Adler, she continues acting on her own terms, proving she never disappeared—she simply chose a different kind of success.
